Performers
Trojan Horsemen
This six-ship demo team is the only one of its size featuring the North American T-28 Trojan, a World War II-era trainer for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. The Trojan Horsemen deliver formation aerobatics, a stirring patriotic salute to the Armed Forces and – thanks to their 1,425-horsepower radial engines – a thundering wall of sound.
The Class of ’45
Jim Tobul, flying the “Korean War Hero” F4U-4 Corsair, and Scott Yoak, in his “Quicksilver” P-51 Mustang, team up in this exciting tribute to the servicemen who flew and maintained these legendary American fighters. Both aircraft were built in 1945 and represented the pinnacle of military aviation technology at that time.
Texas Raiders B-17 Flying Fortress
This Boeing B-17, flown by the Gulf Coast Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, is one of only 11 “Flying Fortresses” still in the air today. It has been recognized by AIR CLASSICS magazine as the best restored B-17G bomber currently flying in the world. The aircraft was restored to wartime configuration by an entirely volunteer group of dedicated supporters.
Jacquie B Airshows
Jacquie Warda in 2003 became the first female pilot to enter the airshow business at the age of 50. Thanks to a bright smile, a friendly personality and a thrilling routine in her bright-red Extra 300, she continues to be a favorite among airshow audiences today.
Kent Pietsch Airshows
A 40-year airshow veteran, Kent Pietsch and his “Jelly Belly” Interstate Cadet feature a mesmerizing series of acts, including a dead-stick (engine off) routine from 6,000 feet, a rooftop landing on a moving RV and a dizzying, wingtip-scraping comedy act.
Sky Soldiers
The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation “Sky Soldiers” feature a patriotic demonstration of their Vietnam-era Cobra and Huey helicopters. These aircraft also will be on hand for spectator rides (at an additional fee separate from the air show ticket).
Disabled American Veterans “Panchito” B-25
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Aviation Outreach Program uses its North American B-25 bomber, “Panchito,” to increase public awareness of disabled veterans and to serve veterans in communities across the nation. The 1.2 million-member organization is committed to care and compassion for the nation’s sick and disabled veterans.
Stearman Formation Team
The Stearman Formation Team was formed to preserve and fly the magnificent and historic Boeing Stearman Model 75 while paying respect to the men and women who designed, maintained and flew it in the WWII era. Comprised of private Stearman owners from around the Southeast, the team flies formations to honor our service men and women, past, present and future.
