		The Redtail Project In this world of many challenges, the youth of today can learn from the challenges and lessons of a half century ago... Where a group of brave men and women fought for their rights and the right to serve this country... with their skills, enthusiasm and when necessary, with their lives. In addition to recognizing the historic and unmatched accomplishments of the "Lonely Eagles", their efforts are also a beacon for today. If these exceptional few can work within the system to achieve their magnificent goals, so too can we. Their accomplishments are a legacy not only to their past, but to our future. It is on these simple issues the Red Tail Project was born: To restore to flying condition an extremely rare P-51C Mustang in order to bring the living story of the Tuskegee Airmen to the public. To inspire all Americans, especially our youth, to see and understand that there are true heroes among us, and that their example shows that it is possible to avoid the traps facing us today, such as drugs and crime, and that a better world can be built through determination and perseverance.
