11th Annual Thunder in the Valley Air Show Announces Dates

Pre-Show Media Day Scheduled February 27, 2008

 

Columbus, Ga., February 22, 2008 – The Thunder in the Valley Air Show is scheduled for March 15 - 16, 2008, at the Columbus, GA Metropolitan Airport from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Thunder in the Valley Air Show is a family event for the local community. Proceeds earned from the show supports more than 11,000 youth in the counties of West Georgia and East Alabama. 

 

A partial assembly of vintage aircraft and classic automobiles, scheduled to appear at this year’s Thunder in the Valley Air Show, will be at the CSG Aviation Terminal of the Columbus, GA Metropolitan Airport Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. (weather permitting). All media personnel are invited to attend this pre-show media event. There will be exclusive opportunities for static, “formation” and aerial photographs or audio and visual news footage.  Plane-side and car-side interviews will be granted.  

    

Scheduled aircraft to appear during the Thunder in the Valley Air Show’s pre-show media event are: a T-28 and a T-6 – WWII trainers with 600 horse power engines, and aerobatic capabilities; and a 1937 Stagger Wing bi-plane.  A 1930’s era Packard automobile will also be on display representing the classic car show – a new and added feature to this year’s air show. 

 

Media rides are restricted to working media only.  All media must be prepared to provide name, news organization, and contact numbers (including day and evening). A fully completed and signed release form must be submitted for all plane rides.
